That is only about 26.4psi, I had my stage 5 spiking to 29psi and then falling back to 25psi for a little while and then back to 20psi by 5500-6k.
You were probably right on the edge and with colder weather and denser air, you could be poping over just a hair.
This is easy to fix, just adjust you're base boost out a hair and you will not spike as high. You can directly effect how high you're turbo will spike by adjusting base boost. I had to use a helper spring and around 7-8psi of base boost to hit 28-29psi of boost, but it only did that in the winter in the cold mornings at say 20F or something.
If you do this, you may want to tweak it back up a little in the summer when the air is hot and less dense.
Problems: clean and blow out you're bpc if its t5, can't remember? Check base boost. If it was a leak in the solenoid line, it would over-boost in every gear, the higher speed of 4th and 5th cools the ic more and sometimes allows more boost :-) Good Luck,
