Hey Guys! I wanted to share my experience today at our local (North Texas Region) SCCA school event today. I took my '99 9-3 conv to the event.. A pretty mild car in the sense that it only has very limited performance upgrades (KN air filter, MBC+A, cat back exhaust, TBTC ported, silencer removed) like I said pretty limited performance. Suspension wise, I have some upgrades (Koni Springs, Bilstein Dampers, 6pt brace, SS strut tower brace, 25mm front and back anti-sway bars). Anyway, the car performed well.

I am not so good at left foot braking, but I was able to swing the back around and get through saloms with no problems.. My only problem (and truly this is probably due to my lack of experience) was a skid pad (or lazy radius turn). I could keep my speed constant through it, but if I gave it to much throttle I would plow or push our of the turn.. if I slowed down too much, then I would oversteer and loss speed too..

But, I think my heavy car impressed many of the insructors.. None of them had ever driven a saab and while they preferred their WRX's and Miata's, they were impressed with the power. I took that as a compliment because like I stated the power upgrades are pretty limited.
