Hello Hans, not sure just why you're formula came up with only 2 degrees retard, especially at the crank? The first time I encountered this problem was with cams that Gary Moore got from his tranny guy in Sweden and in his C-900 application both cams were exactly 9 1/2 crankshaft degrees retarded so I realized that they had mistakenly sent '94 up cams rather that earlier ones. Since then I've degreed in several sets of '94 to '97 9000 Aero cams in C-900's and early 9000's and found the same numbers. I've been using Aero cams in these early cars and of course having to mill the distributor drive slot into the exhaust cam and adjust the cam sprockets. Two degrees of retard at the crank would represent a total of about .007" removed from the head and block which is what I usually encounter on a Saab with minimum machining from both surfaces. Take care, Dave
