There are many turbos that you could get to work, but its the ease and placement issues and the ability to make or have made a tubular manifold.

There are very good mitsubishi precision turbos that work well, the turbonetics line, the hks line, the greddy line, the garrett line, switzer turbos, t3/t4 hybrids, journal bearing, t series, bb series, and the list goes on.

If you are looking for a turbo that will fit without changing the exhaust manifold, the list is much more narrow, but hybrid upgrades can work well and turbos like the tdo4-18t or even 19t can make 360bhp and the t25's can be made into t28's and some have been able to get the gt3071wg to fit on the stock manifold with a spacer flange from Nick. This is ng900-93 and 9000's.

Decide on what hp goal you want to achieve and then decide if you want to go journal bearing, bb or what and then decide if you want to upgrade a tdo4 or t25 turbo and then go from there. Also think about what application you need, quick spooling fun around town turbo or big bhp and drag racing type application. This will help you decide which way to go in you're selection because a turbo that is great for big power and drag racing is not so good for quick response and auto-crossing and around town fun, where in the rpm band do you want you're power to be?

For monster power, say 600whp, some guys are now having good luck with holset hx35 turbos from the disel industry and they are huge and need a tubular manifold, but the options are many if you are willing to do what it takes to make a larger off brand turbo work.

Good Luck,

John
