Hi all!
I'm in the process of deciding on custom cam grinds for my '87 convertible. The car is highly modified and will see RPM of at least 7000. I currently run the NA intake cam/85t exhaust cam combo, but it falls flat in the higher RPM. (FYI I am staying with hydro lifters)
I am currently looking at two sources for grind info: http://www.CatCams.be website and 900Aer0.com.
Widde's site mentions two cams from Catcams, a stage I and Stage II. But looking on the Catcams website, they offer grinds which are quite different!
I am ignorant on the science of camshafts so I'm looking for some help here - Anyone have experience with custom cams?
Here's the catcams spec I am considering:
duration________duration________maximum lift________lift at TDC
245 / 242°________220 / 208°________10.85 / 9.50mm________0.80 / 0.30mm
If that didn't paste properly, you can visit the catcams website and check their catalog out...
Thanks in advance!
