as the way the valve works means you don't need a stronger spring. The spring isn't "holding" the piston against boost, since there is also manifold pressure behind the piston via the vacuum hose. The spring just needs to be strong enough to move the piston back to closed position after blow off.
Stronger than that is actually sub-optimal, since you want as weak a spring as possible to let the valve open as fast and as much as possible when the throttle closes. Shims can also restrict how much the valve can open.
I think Nick Taliafero recently posted that he also used the green spring in his 500 hp Saab :)
