I needed to rotate my tires so I thought I would stick them on a scale while they were off :o)
So, the OEM 15x5.5 with 195-65-15 all season tires wich are almost at their tread mark weighed in at 38 lbs.
I then weighed the front & rear forgeline 18x7 rim with Yokohama Parada 225-35-18 tires with less then 1000 miles on them The result was 42 lbs for the rear & 41 lbs for the front :o)
So for 2-3 lbs more wieght I gained 3 inches of rim diameter, another 30mm in tread width as well as a new set (well almost) of tires. I would think that when these tires are almost worn to nothing they would weigh less then the OEM rims with the 195-65's.
I also beleive that the little bit of weight I gained is greatly outweighed by the added traction the wider tires get.
I also plan on sticking the AP Racing stuff I picked up to see how much lighter they are then stock :o)
