That is the issue, stock rings do not seem to be available in a smaller size. I only gave the spec sheet I have from pro seal and total seal, these are not my opinions or estimates, these are from Je and total seal. I am just reciting the information.
The only thing that might possibly happen if they are on the lose side is a little oil blow by. If they are too tight, they can make contact and that will cause issues. Better too lose than too tight.
The stock saab specs are .012-.019", that is the spec no matter how you slice it. Will a little larger hurt anything? Maybe a little oil and hp that you could not really feel or measure probably, but I find it strange my last two engine builds both had .017" and is in the spec of the book and the oe rings and deves and now total seal all come in at .021-.024. It not going to damage anything, it just might have a little blow by.
