you are way too kind & I mean that :-( Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 11:10:28 In Reply to: Re: MSD 6BTM Hickups - HELP!, SAABROBAZ, Wed, 12 Nov 2008 07:55:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
just kidding :-)
have you checked the idle timing without moving the distributor but with & without the MSD? leaving the vacum hose on the AID
somehow the idle timing may be going really advanced with the MSD box & with an AIC to lower the idle could make it run like crap
is there anything else I should know like its a converted NA car with a EZK box or something?
IM doing that here on julios car but I got rid of the crank sensor & took a turbo dist & welded the plate in it so the hall sensor cant move & removed the AID so hte timing can actually be set.... both statically & somewhat dynamically using the BTM
power & ground drop testing is whre with the car running & as many accessories on tou take a volt meter & on the power side you would bridge the coil+ to battery+ if it exceeds .5V you work the ends toward each other in the circuit untill the resistance is found
you can bridge negative circuits this way too to check for grounds say from body to bat- or engine to body & so on
loaded circuit testing is much better then using an ohm meter because a loaded circuit is more likeley to show its ass then an unloaded one
do you have access to a lab scope to look at the primary waveforms ? meaning the low voltage grounding side of the coil
you can call me if you need to talk

take care
