I just wanted to say thank you to Jak Stoll from JSP and Anders from Swedecar. I finally installed JSP stage 2 (ECU and 3" full exhaust on my 01 Viggen yesterday. I had Anders do all the installation. I also had Anders put in a set of Bilstein's, HD up front to match the rear ones I had already put on 2 years ago when I swapped out my bent reat axel. Anders also dropped the oil pan to ensure there was no sludge before we swapped out the ECU. Lastly I picked up a set of 4 brand new Velocity VW 257 rims and went with a set of Nexen N3000, 215,50, ZR17's. The stock size for the Viggen is 215, 45, 17. The slightly taller tire actually fits the wheel well better than my old stock size BFG's. I found a great shop in Los Angeles that gave me the wheels and tires installed for $650. This is a crazy great price for wheels and tires. I know Nexen is not a well known brand but the reviews seem to be favorable. And at 54 bucks a tire.. who cares if they don't last forever I can afford to buy other ones!
Bottom line my 01 Viggen with 126k miles now looks and drives better than it did in 2002 when I bought the car with just 20k miles on it. The torque is crazy and the traction control comes on in 2,and 3 gear when I punch it. The sound of the exhaust is more aggressive but not invasive or annoying, and the fact Anders welded on the stock Viggen tip the car truly is a "sleeper". I plan on keeping the car for another 125k miles.
The $4500 total I spent on the car to keep her looking good and running great was well worth it. I know that is a year of car payments, but if I keep the car for another 5 years I will get a great return on investment.
Thank you again Anders and Jak for the labor, expertise and performance, and the folks and PS2 in Inglewood for the wheels and tires.
Merry Christmas!
Brett
PS... if santa brings me a new digital camera for xmas I will put up pictures soon!
