I had that symptom after I had the trans replaced. Took it back to the independent who did the work and told him it wasn't whistling before I brought it in. They scratched their collective head, checked the hose fittings and said they didn't know what was causing it. Dropped by the dealer, and the service mgr gave it to the most SAAB experienced tech. They came back and said nothing to do about it, sometimes older turbo's just whistle, or maybe a small bit of dirt got into the impeller blade and caused some damage. Huh...
Took it to another independent, close by, who has a lot of experience with Saabs, going way back. Thought the angle of the large intake hose was a little odd. Said maybe the air rushing over the point where the hose fits onto the metal fitting was whistling. Loosened the clamp, adjusted -- I hopped in the car and drove home without the whistle.
