Go to specialstage.com and look in the classifieds. There is a C900T for sale for an asking price of $7000. Or for less, you can find an SCCA race car suitable for starting out. And I know that there are more races closer to where ever live than there are performance rallies. A fast street car is fun. I have or at least had until my wife took it away from me, a Mustang Cobra. Now I am stuck driving the 4 door sedan to and from work. Of course it doesn't hurt that the sedan is an Audi A6 Quattro with the 2.7 turbo engine. I bought it instead of a Viggen becasue it has twice as many drive wheels and twice as many turbos. :-) However, actually driving a race car absolutely as fast as you can is a real blast. Either diving into turn 1 at Texas World Speedway at 110 or hitting a blind corner at Cherokee Trails at 'only' 35. E-mail me and I will try to seduce you to the dark side. I can actually let you know the real costs of most types of racing.
