Err... almost.

My '87 Airflow convertible made 335whp & 330ft/lbs at 26 psi. At 15% losses, that's 394bhp.

The story:

I was randomly invited to a local Audi dyno day - they didn't have enough people to get the group discount. So I hopped in my car and went there. No time to check spark plugs, do tuning, anything. It was a Dyno Dynamics unit (supposedly called the "heartbreak" dyno).

I have been doing a bit of tuning in the high boost levels, but only to around 20psi. I kept it very very very conservative on AFR and spark. I had no time to change any settings beforehand. So I strap down and we do a run, I make 270whp at 4500-ish RPMs and I blow off an IC hose. Great.

Same boost levels, only a non-interrupted run yields 294whp. Sweet, knockin on the door of the big 3-0-0. We crank it up again and success, 315whp at 24 PSI. At these boost levels the car is so pig-rich, I'm surprised it's making any power at all up there. My AFR was around 9-10:1 and the spark was at 8* BTDC.

We go for one more run - 335whp and 330ft/lbs at 26psi. And no kaboom!

The shop owner loved my car, and said to come back and do some steady-state tuning. He said with just spark and fuel tuning alone there's probably another 50whp in it.

So a big THANKS to everyone who has helped me so far.

As you can imagine, tuning in the higher boost/rpm regions is up next. I should be able to make the same or more power at lower PSI with proper tuning. I regret not being able to make any tuning changes between runs, but that's how it goes sometimes. I was however able to datalog the runs, so I obtained lots of good data.
