It's the large spring (retard side) that you need to replace. We're the ones that created the Advanced Ignition Diaphragm (A.I.D.) in the first place so I still have the correct springs! I've since made them adjustable so my new name for them is Adjustable Ignition Device. We came up with a super simple tool to adjust the retard limit while in place with the engine running while the timing light is hooked up. I could send you a spring, shim kit and the adjusting tool, just shoot me an email. Your on the right track, most just bend the stop however that only helps one problem and make the main one worse! With your MSD BTM you can add an inline adjustable valve so it's retard has an end point other wise they just keep on retarding even in the higher rpm's when you actually need to re-advance your timing. Brad at KC Saab modifies distributors to correct that problem. Dave
