The last time I was researching it, the idea was that a little more preload on the wastegate actuator (more base boost) would help pressure rise faster, which is commanded by the ECU anyway. It does make a difference in the LH C900's, and might make a little improvement with the Trionic cars, it's been so long since I messed with our 9000 that I forget what it's set at.
I haven't asked any of the tuners lately what they recommend, and they might all give you a different answer, so best to ask directly to the company concerned.
Just be careful with the helper spring, too stiff a spring too soon, and the ECU won't be able to dump extra boost fast enough to prevent engine damage (that's how I broke that piston in mine, too stiff a helper spring).
