I got confused, because in Europe, they sell a true light pressure turbo 9-3 which has 154hp while here in the states they only sell two high pressure turbos with 185hp (base) and 205hp (SE) (except for the Viggen 2.3l High Output Turbo). If you have the 185hp base 9-3, you should have a BPC module located near the upper left hand side of the radiator (if you are standing in front of the car looking under the hood). This BPC module will have three vacuum hoses connected to it as well as a wiring harness (At least that's the way my '99 9-3 HOT is). I'm sure someone here has pictures of the BPC on a 2000 model or can get pictures.
Hope this helps.
