I just put my winter wheels and tires on my Viggen last night. Just on a whim I decided to weigh one of each summer and winter wheel/tire.
To my great amazement the OEM summer tires were 18lbs heaver EACH.
217/45/17 Dunlop SP Sport2000 mounted on original Radius R1 17" wheels weigh 44lbs each.
205/50/16 Michelin Pilot Alpins mounted on BBS RK 16" wheels weigh 26lbs each.
I knew there would be a difference attributable to the difference in size between the 17" and the 16" but I wasn't expecting anything near 20 pounds each. That's an overall reduction in unsprung weight of 72lbs. Amazing.
