How are you planning to play with your fun car? (I take my 2000 9-5 Aero to HPDE events - Audi Club and Hooked on Driving - A ton of fun. If you haven't done these events, I highly recommend trying one.)
1) KONI FSD's absolutely transformed the car - cornering became much flatter, most of the wallow/roll is out. Steering is crisper as well. This is a must for fun on the twisties. Ride is still very comfortable - much less harsh than my wife's TT, which is not bad. Still on the stock 2000 Aero springs and swaybars.
2) Driver Upgrade - if you haven't done track driving courses, they are well worth it. I'm not talking racing school - rather developing and refining your car handling skills. Audi Club instruction is first rate, and relatively affordable; Hooked on Driving and NASA also do HPDE driving schools. And if you want, the there's always Skip Barber, Russell Racing and the the other professional schools.
3) Brakes - the 9-5 is a heavy car - and stock brakes will overheat. Hawk HPS pads (I got mine from Genuine Saab) hold up well on the track and work very well on the street. The Akebono ceramics I tried can't take the heat. Using the Viggen rotors on front - hope I can stay with them; the brake upgrades for the 9-5 get pricey.
Also, brake fade can be an issue if you are running the car on a track, especially if your brake fluid is a little old. Annual brake fluid changes are a good idea; there are some high temp DOT4s you might consider as well (I'm just about to move in that direction)
ENJOY!!!
