is that stainless steel lines make no difference, unless you push your brakes to their limits and in terms of longevity as they will likely never need replacement. TML, thanks to your post I realize given the driving I do, stainless steel lines are really not a wise idea for me to purchase. They do not justify the nearly 180 bucks I'd spend.
Having said that, is there a life to these rubber lines? My car is almost 10 years old (I'm sure mine are perfectly fine, I ask for the sake of learning). For example, rubber coolant hoses have a limit to how long they will last. So, how about rubber hoses? I was thinking that perhaps part of the reason older cars (the 2000 9-3 SE with 100k miles just recently) have the pedal more squishy, or not as responsive as my Viggen's is perhaps due to the age of the rubber and them expanding slightly even before lock-up? Not sure.
For now, I believe I will stick with my stock rubber lines and go ahead with the upgrade. I'll have half rubber and half stainless in the rears :-) . Would be nice to hear your opinions on the above.
