While I clearly needed better front pads for the track, the rear stock pads served very well for many HPDE track events over the years. There was no evidence the rear pads were unsuitable or failing. I've burned up front pads in a track day, yet the rear pads were just fine.
Rear brakes/pads just don't get the stress the front pads do (newer electronic stability control systems do increase the wear on the rears, but my TCS doesn't work that way)
