Just saw this thread ( as have been off line for awhile for medical reasons and now getting back in swing of things over last couple of weeks) but thought I would contribute anyway as should be able to post pics when all done. I am having a Beryl Green 91 SPG seriously restored and upgraded ( under the hood and inside the cabin ). It is a project Jak is somewhat familiar with and and I have one of his chips. I have a large FMIC from Bell that has been successfully mounted with new E-codes going in as part of all round upgrades and no loss of AC with that combination. I did not exactly have the " go large or go home" conversation with Jak ( but it is possible I may have missed that part of the lengthy very informative instruction as the mod I am doing largely follows one of his suggested mod package and that calls for an FMIC and I have to really thank him for his time and input to this very very "green " Saab enthusiast on technical matters - he is an asset to our community ) but I in an event came to same conclusion that certain parts of the upgrade which you don't want to have to come back to ( if you want to push further ) should be made to accomodate an overshoot of your initial HP target. I think my FMIC is somewhere in the 2.5 to 2.75 inches thick range and will safely accomodate mods made to support 300+ HP. The design was borrowed from a design of Brad Schaffner's who is in Kansas City. I have to thank Dave Haugh ( I think I have name right who has a moniker on Saabnet but I cant remember what it is ) for pointing me towards Brad . Again, from just picking up on threads here and poking around, I ended up in discussion with him about FMICs and then got to Brad When it comes to putting this on the road, I am historically very good on transmissions and although I am really looking forward to getting this thing to tow me along with more shots of boost along the way,I don't plan on picking up bits of my transmission from the highway. Because of know how, parts and other things obtained via Saabnet for this car ( as you can see from references above ) hopefully if I can ever get the car finished I will post pics, including some progress pics ( if I can find them ) as this car is very much built on the back of a lot of info and contacts and parts I came by through this website.
Cheers
