Alas, I can't answer the question about whether the 16" wheels will fit. Hopefully, someone else can.
You are correct about the color of the wheels from various model years, except that the two-tone were from the '91 and '92 9000 turbo, which was not known as the Aero at that time. Some have referred to those MY's as the Aero Jr., however.
I think the SPG would look great with the two-tone wheels. I think the stock wheels in '91 were a monotone, but I'm not sure. I saw a Saab brochure with the car so fitted, and it caused me lust in my heart. I keep telling myself I should get one. Who is doing your restoration for you?

$225 for the two-tone (H68157), $245 for the later Aero style (H68164), and $185 for the style on the 1998 9000 CSE (H68206 - the one that came with a 225 hp engine - it doesn't use a center cap). These are all 16". Good luck.
