Wo, I was VERY impressed with the way this storm kept up with me. I was at a two lane red light, of course the guy didn't give me any notification that I was being raced. When the light turned green all of a sudden I hear the sound of what seemed like a long duration cam to my left. This SEAFOAM GREEN (Yes, of all colors) shoots right by me. So then I take off I slowly crept by him until I was at a half a car length ahead then we had to slow down for a red light. This was the perfect chance for me to test brake launch in my 9-3 Auto. I rev it to 2kRPMS release brake and simultaneously mash the peddle. He did the same, although he had a manual. I instantly jumped infront and his nose was by my rear door. Then I slowly walked away until 60 where he was a half car length behind me and the race was over. We came up to traffic and parted our ways. I know he had a manual because he laid down tracks on his 1-2 shift, and I am dead serious.
Background on my car
99 9-3S Auto
Cold Air intake(too complicated to explain in this already long post)
Port throttle transition
Boost controller set to 12PSI(max before auto fuel cut)
Removed Cat and have a custom exhaust(will soon add a downpipe)
Now I checked the specs on the Storm GSI and they are very impressive.
HP 140
TQ 120
Displacement 1.8LT
Redline 7,000Rpms
and get this a 2200lb CURB WEIGHT
Ok, I had my rant. I was very amazed. Have a good day all.
Mike
