...are the main reasons why they are not too interested in doing business overseas. Telesales using a credit card are not too common here in northern europe, although possible. Personal checks have been history for almost two decades now. Most of the postal order business is done COD. Overseas COD is not possible. And one funny thing: here in northern europe parcel services such as UPS are a marginal business: I'd say about 80-90% of domestic or inter-scandinavian shipments are sent using national postal service or cargo (truck) express. Since these companies do not ship overseas (well, the postal service does but is not competitive with UPS and alike) the tuning shop would have to negotiate with a courier for each overseas shipment they'll be making.

Things are very different within the european union: there are no customs declarations to be made, billing can be done in the same currency (euros), COD works to every country... In my experience, even the small companies are willing to do business within the EU. But as you've noticed, this is not unfortunately the case with overseas sales.

Well, on the other hand, I've been denied service while talking to many US retailers as well. Fortunately there are very pleasant exceptions, including Saab Savior, a site sponsor.

Regards,
Jouko from Finland

PS. Every single swedish national (who'll be able to read email) will understand english well enough to write you a reply in english. This is the case with people in all of the Northern european countries. The only exceptions in the whole europe would probably be some german and french people - even that's very rare however
