They charge a core fee (and reduce your final price). The core you send in must be a usable core. Cracked wheels and severely bent wheels are refused as cores, and you pay extra for not having a good core. These people do not mess around, since it is not worth it to them. They deal in very high volumes of used refinshed/straightened wheels.
I have heard stories about other companies doing a poor job. It should be obvious to the buyer if the straightened wheel they got it bad, since you will experience a shake at speed; among other things.
Transwheel AND Ye Ole Wheel Shoppe are widely regarded for the quality of their work. I know I'm impressed with the wheel I got from Transwheel. I have a balancing machine, plus 3 other perfect rims to compare it to; they all match up perfectly.
All of the work is warrantied, too.
