I am sorry if this is my second post.I seemed to lose the first one.
After reading all the threads on the Saab and audi forums regarding By pass/Dv valves thepopular valves seemed to be the Bailey, Turbo XS, and the Forge valves, I contucted my own tests. After borrowing/buying the valves and calling dealers for info, this is what I found.
The Bailey a smallish valve that appears to bonded closed.
This is therefore not a maintaineable part. The valve I borrowed seamed a little hesistant on accelaration, and on asking the dealer for delivery they had no stock.
The Turbo XS, strange looking but well made valve. On test my concerns over the heavy brass piston seemed to be proved ,the heavy piston does not respond as quickly as it plastic competitors.
The Forge two styles of valve 007P & 006 A serviceable valve that the distibutors had good stocks of, and they said all parts, and the valve were guaranteed for life.
After fitting the car seemed to drive a lot more responsivly, with a slight chuffing noise a top revs.
An interesting point is that the Forge valve seems to be the same valve being supplied by Abbott Racing and TSL from the UK.
My final choice the Forge good simple efficient valve.Easy to fit.
