My HKS BOV update, kinda funny <:o)

When I picked up the 88 SPG originally, mid red is what the car woud do & it slowly got worse. I thought the OEM hooter valve was the culprit so I swapped the larger IC pipes as well as the HKS BOV from my 87 to the 88. After doing that, I would get 15 mph, lot's of black smoke & at times, I couldn't go 70 mph! So I purchased the HKS part to recirculate the air from the BOV like the OEM unit does. I hooked it up & went for a test drive & BANG!!! The car still ran OK as long as I wasn't in boost. As it turned out, the rubber hose which connects the top IC pipe the the intake manifold developed a 1-2 in tear which was caused by me actually hooking up BOV up wrong. The BOV is mounted on the top IC duct & I ran the hose from that to the OEM location where the hooter valve dumps tha air. I then realized that I set it up to it recirculated the air back to the exact same area, oops! Anyways, since there was a nice tear in the hose, I swapped the part from my 87 to the 88 & weeeeeeeee, the boost guage is off the scale! My guess is that the hose had a small tear in it which was dumping lots of air out & me hooking the BOV up wrong caused it to tear the rest of the way.
Presently, the BOV dumps the air into the atmosphere & works perfectly just like it did on the 87. No smoke, smooth idle, big decrease in turbo lag (due to hole in hose??) & pegs the boost guage!
So, the BOV works!
