I was heading up to our boat tonight to retrieve a cordless drill from it. If any of you are familiar with the Glens Falls/Queensbury, NY area, this was on the rural part of Ridge Rd. that goes up near Lake George. Anyhow, it's a road with a few curves, several long straights with passing zones. I was coming home and this bitch in a Chevy Lumina taxi, probably early 90's, comes flying up behind me and attempts to pass in a no passing zone. Big no-no. I can't stand it when people do that to me, it's really a pet peeve of mine. I was doing about 65, tossed it into 3rd, and nailed it. By the time the turbo wound up, she was right next to me. I blasted out of there so fast she hung out in the passing lane for a second and pulled back in, apparently stunned ("WTF?! This slightly rusty SAAB just burned me?!?!") and proceeded to tailgate me. Another thing I hate (my previous car was destroyed by a tailgater. I kept it stady at 60 and watched carefully in my rearview. Well, she went out for the pass again, and thinking it insane to labor the point any further, I pulled over a bit and let her pass, and then matched my speed to hers. She was doing around 90. She passed some old guy doing about 40 (this time in a passing zone - wow!) I too passed him. I followed from a safe distance to the intersection of Ridge and Rt. 149, and followed her into Glens Falls, straight to the taxi's main offices, where I spoke with her boss. Turns out she's 20, has gotten 4 traffic tickets previously while driving their taxis, and tonight, she lost her job. One more irresponsible slob removed from the roads, fellow Saabers.
