>>>I know how to check timing in the driveway, but how do I check timing at max boost? I have this crazy image of myself strapped face-down over the engine, timing light in hand, while my teenager floors the car on the interstate; it's an amusing image until I remember (1) he's not that great a driver, and (2) that's me over the motor. There's got to be a less exciting way.

LOL!! That was a good one!!
No, really, you´ll need to get a handpump,oneway-valve, timing light, some vac-hose, and pressure gauge (the stock boostmeter on the panel will do it, but very roughly).
Pump pressure to the distributor+pressure meter and read timing/pressure at the same time. You´ll get a "map" of your timing, like 13deg@5psi 12,5deg@7psi...etc.
Make sure that your timing will stay over 9 BTDC/max boost, otherwise you´ll loose power + exhaust gas will get so hot that it might burn exh.valves.
Hope this helps and feel free to email me if you got more questions.
Cheers
Tweaker
