a 2.5 inch cat-back exhaust system (Sabre stainless-steel). 2nd I modified
the air-box, sorry no pictures. I removed the lower splash panel on the
drivers side and front parking light. Removed the air-box cover from the fender
well, drilled two 2" holes in the front of the cover and covered them with
fine mesh screen. I left the existing snorkle, assumming that the air
would flow where there was least resistance.
Surprisingly, modifying the air box increased my fuel mileage by a noticable
amount, 1-2 mpg. By the way I use a K&N filter element.
3rd, I installed an Abbott ECU. If I were to do it again, I would try an
ECU from a Swedish tuner. The Abbott ECU provides plenty of power, but
there are better s/w mods out there.
The results are impressive. Totally transforms the car. My Aero is an auto,
so I started with 200 Hp. Calculations from a dyno run indicate I now have
about 250-260 Hp.
