even though the dealer and I'm sure many of the tuners reprogram the ecu's from the ecu connector itself, the way I would do it is to remove the eprom and put it in my burning hardware. This makes the process proprietary to the eprom chip manufactorer itself not saab. Doing it from the ecu connector must be a saab thing.
