So I had just put some octane booster in my '96 900T to see how the CC ECU would react and took it out on the Garden State P'Way for a quick test late last night. I noticed very quick throttle response and an overall quickness of the car. Bare in mind I've had Abbott for years and grew to love it and since I only have CC step1 compared to Abbott's 65hp I was really not convinced CC was faster even though the car felt torque'y.
After travelling north with a smile on my face I turned around and headed south to home looking for someone to run with. Well, it was about 1 a.m. so not really. Anyways, about half way home I noticed four low set lights gaining from behind in the distance. I checked my speed 90mph, so I figured if this car catches me any time soon it's really running. Well, it was running as it caught up with me and was soon on my ass. I wasn't sure which car it was and fearing I could get my doors blow off by a much faster car I tentatively floored it in 5th, well I quickly opened up 2-3 car lengths and started pulling away. Not wanting to cheat by surprising whoever it was I slowed down and waited, whoosh it was on my ass again. So I figured the next time I floor it will be no surprise, so I did and again I opened up a gap though not as quickly this time. So, I had a race on my hand without even knowing what I was runnung with. The car was really trying to keep up but I kept it floored and was really pulling away. By this time I was trying to wipe the smile off my face and dying to see if I was up against a real contender or a wanna be. So, I went into the middle lane and slowed down for the car to pass and that it did. As it went by I quickly dropped to 4th and pulled out behind at about 80mph, it was two guys and yes it was a SC400. Well, I knew he was going to gun it as I pulled out so I was ready for that, puff out of his exhaust and I was still on his ass 4th was strong as I almost ran thru him, I pulled out along side and saw the look of disbelive on the passenger. I waved good bye as I passed them, as 130mph approached I went into 5th and kept pulling away. My exit was fast approaching so I hit the flashers and received a series of high beam flashes from them, that was sweet said my girlfriend as I slowed for my exit. While I have not done any such thing with Abbott I was really impressed this kind of performace.
