may want to check up on a search of the BB. its just as ck described - located on the forward end of the engine right near the thrermostat. metal cylinder w/ some hoses and a plug attached. it can be simply removed and cleaned with carb cleaner or mineral spirits. it regulates idle and sticks on occasion. it's supposed to buzz when operating correctly. an easy and no cost thing to check first and has helped me out in the past.
