Try just tweaking your APC per Kevin's instructions, basically you turn in F potentiometer 1/4 turn or so and bump in the the P pot a little bit at a time. I forget the exact details but it's been posted numerous times. You can get boost well into red. Tweak is best bang for no bucks.
Also don't forget to set your wastegate to at least 5.0 psi base boost. See if you get excessive knock sensor turbo cut with premium gas. If it's OK, then you don't really need the new fpr. I went from the 2.5 to a 2.8 to a 3.0 and did not see much performance difference except reduced gas mileage. Then I put in the RRFPR and got my mileage back. Maybe a slight performance increase, hard to tell by seat of pants.
I'm running 24lb injectors, again hard to tell without a dyno.
If you get excessive knock sensor boost cut, you can then set timing to 14 BTDC, but you give up a little off boost response. I run 15 BTDC as a compromise. Play with it...free.
Probably the next thing to do is get one of the boost retard ignition controls. MSD makes one and SPG9 has their AID device to manage the boost retard. With these, you can run lots more boost. Best one??? Lot's of posts on the pros and cons of each. Kevin, Raul, etc
Alternately, you can add a water injection system with bigger injectors. Brad is the expert on these. he thinks 30lb injectors with water and an AMM resistor is a good approach.
