ok ok....sorry....maybe only more...not more more....AAaaannnyway...
i just got my set of iridium plugs. much to my chagrin they are not the ones i ordered but appear to be OEM for this engine. i wanted iq22, hotter with a smaller gap .033. IQ20 is what showed. .044 gap. my experience with hi gap plugs ( bosch +4 ) was that at stock boost they are fine, at hi boost they dropped out. Currently i am was using ngk6 again although if i stayed under 12 psi boost i'd drop them and go back to +4( i got a bunch of barely used plugs). i decided that i would put them in anyway rather than have another wrong set show up but for grins i hooked up my MSD. For those who have followed ignition battles over the last 3 years remember that i disconnected the MSD due to poor no load performance ( burping at 2800 no load). at first turnover i could immediately tell that i was getting a nice hot spark. ( don't ask HOW i know..I just do..) got in an off i go...very smooth..no burping. no boost fade and holds at 18. my but dyno says at least 40 more hp....i got a big butt ok???
Ol Elvis Chrisx Bob says "By em". but make sure you insist on IQ22 if you overboost and have stock ignition..thank you...thank you very much...
