Viggen "check engine" light on Posted by frank [Email] (#2509) [Profile/Gallery] (more from frank) on Thu, 2 Aug 2001 21:19:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My '99 Viggen's "check engine" light came on tonight. I was close to home, so I took it very easy the rest of the way.
I'll call the dealer in the morning.
Any ideas what it could be, or similar experiences? The manual seemed to point to a fuel injection problem. I just had the 20,000 mile service done and specifically told them I thought it was idling a little rough. I haven't had time to do replace the plugs yet, but I can't believe that's the problem.
BTW, I waited 10-15 minutes and then checked fluid levels, and the oil cap was really, really hot (too hot to hold in my hand), but the level was okay. I don't know that I've ever checked the oil after running the Viggen's engine (usually before startup). Is that amount of heat unusual?
Thanks.
