I have been doing this for several years. The air mass meter sends out a variable voltage that goes from 0 to 5 volts. The moe air mass that passes through the sensor the higher the voltage. To bring the mixture back down to the window that Lamba can operate we add a resistor in the orange out put wire from the air mass meter. The normal resistance is 300 ohms. Higher if you want it leaner.
The extra benifit from using a resistor in the line is you defeat the overboost program in the ecu. Allowing you to run more boost.
