Took delivery the other day of eight Ford Motor Sports 30# injectors, new, but purchased second hand. Guy bought them for his 5.0 LX, but then got a genuine Saleen. Cool.

Installed them tonight. Pretty easy, fired up right away. Then noticed that the fuel rail had a leak in it! Fortunately, swapped in a spare, and just got back from a short test drive.

I've noticed:

-A/F doesn't hunt at idle - it just stays at a high end of stoich after I started it, then a bit rich after some driving and stopped at light and during turbo cool down;

-A/F doesn't lean out under WOT and high boost; had trouble hitting 20psi earlier today, but it went right up there just now - boost isn't rock stable yet though, need more tuning;

-A/F is nearly full rich at WOT and high boost; previously would show full lean out and APC would cut back;

-but WEIRD - my LED connected to pin 19 on the APC shows APC is seeing detonation, while A/F shows full rich;

-idle can be a bit wonky, but hopefully a trip to my mechanics' and some time on the engine scope can cure that; I'm a bit apprehensive about adjusting the AMM on my own, know nothing about using a multi meter;

-cannot comment on fuel pressure now, because I also managed to break my fuel pressure gauge (which was attached to the rail) while doing the R&R. Doh! C$50 to get another one, sigh.

(NS: saw my first single turbo conversion Mk IV Supra today - wow; and also a massive twin turbo V8 Buick Regal - low 9s in the quarter - double wow, kudos for being turbo'd!)
