You are worrying too much about warantee issues.
The 2" aluminum pipe that runs along the bottom of the rad from the turbo's compressor stage (aluminum side). It around 18 to 20 " long I guess. You can't miss it. Get under and have a look. You can see it from the top as well. But you need to get under to remove it.
No it will not come out in one piece. And you will probably not hear much at all unless you modify the air box. The air box is a silencer too. That is why there is a 15" snorkle tube extending 1/2 way into the box.
Saab just dropped the silencer with the HO turbo engines, and they are not making nasty sounds.
Removal of the silencer will not affect the engine, so there is no warrantee issue. It is your vehicle, not Saab's.
You can also modify the throttle body transistion casting as well. These two changes will increase power, responsiveness and smoothness. K&N 33-2663 will complement these changes, as will the Saab Sports exhaust. Installing Saab's exhaust system will also not void your warrantee.
Any sign of engine rear seal leaking? It will cost about $1000 to repair later on. Look for oil at the lowest part of the clutch bell housing. The trany output shaft seals should be inspected as well.
You Saab will not wistle, but when you increase the boost by any means, the stock bypass valve will start to toot. So your $35 MBC might lead to a $129 piston type bypass valve.
300 - 400 for the exhaust
35 for the mbc
130 for a new bypass valve
diy remove the silencer
diy rework the casting
40 K&N
diy air box mod
use heat range 6 plugs if your old ones appear dark
use Techron Concentrate for clean injectors, combustion chambers and easier starting, use good hi octane fuel
if you are keeping the vehicle for the long haul, use synthetic oil
