I'm a little confused. I would have thought that a more powerful engine
(16V turbo) would benefit from taller gears, and most folks in this thread
seem to agree. So why would Saab do the opposite ? Is it to keep the
RPMs higher on the turbo models so that the turbo lag is reduced ? Are
there any reasons NOT to use the taller gearing w/ a turbo ?
