The Talladega was an attempt to stave off those who were waiting for the Viggen's delayed debut (your's truely included...). It also commemorated the second "Long Run" endurance record.
Performance numbers in stock form are identical to that of the 900SE. It was stricktly a trim package upgrade. Nothing else. A nice trim package, but a trim package none-the-less.
Here's what you get for your $500:
16" SuperAero wheels shod with Micheline Pilot MXX3 tires measuring 205/50ZR 16
Black dash and knee bolster
Taupe Leather Seating Surfaces
Taupe Leather Door inserts
Chrome interior door latch
Body color outside mirrors
Body color upper bumper surfaces (standard was matte black)
Black bumper trim (standard was a chrome strip)
Deep front air dam, body color
Slightly larger rear spoiler, body color
Three colors were available: Silver, Black, Cayanne Red
All three body styles were available: 3-door, 5-door, convertible
Climate control is as the original, single zone.
Stereo is not a Harmon Kardon, rather the last of the Clarions. It is the upgraded system with 6 speakers. Base is nice, for me anyway. (I'm not enamored at all with 12" thumping base, so YMMV...)
That, I believe about covers it.
Now, here is what I've done to it since:
Dealer installed Walnut Burl dash
Saab Sport Exhaust (+7 to +12 hp?)
Abbott Racing Motorsports' ECU and wastegate controller (+35hp)
Forge BPV (+2hp?)
removed Turbo Resonator per Dean
K&N drop-in air filter
Abbott Racing Motorsports' Viggen Rescue Kit
Abbott Racing Motorsports' Lowering Springs
And here's what's planned:
Viggen Intercooler
3" down pipe
Free flowing cat.
Porting and polishing head perhaps someday...
Hope that helps!
Good luck, and happy Saabing!
