Add Water Injection, Lose Intercooler?

I was day dreaming today and got to thinking about the following. If you added water injection to a C900 and then removed the intercooler and ran a straight pipe from the turbo to the intake, like on the 8V turbos, it would free up a perfect spot for a K&N under the bumper. The advantages I see to this are:
1. Better cooling(at least better than stock) of the air leaving the
turbocharger.
2. Avoiding the pressure drop through the intercooler. ( I know it is only like 1 psi, but hey the little stuff adds up)
3. Finally a good location that eveybody could stick there K&Ns (I have yet to see a location that is to my liking)
Possible Disadvantages:
1. I can see no clear cut disadvantages to this set up other than the fact that a set up with both an intercooler and water injection would reduce intake temps. even more. But how much more?
2. This all could be the the idiotic ranting of, well, an idiot.
I am a proponent of water injection on 900Ts because there just isn't a lot of room to put a bigger intercooler. I know it is possible to put a 9000 intercooler on but it is a tight fit and requires cutting stuff up.Would anybody care to comment? I would especially like to hear from any amy 8vT people that are running water injection.
