straighten out your intake bellows. i did this on mine b4 i transplanted a turbo engine. if you look at the bellows between the filter and the throttle housing, they are pretty twisty. if you take off the filter and loosen the clamp on the throttle body, you can spin the bellows downward. do this until the first section off the throttle points towards the drivers headlight (about 45 degrees). then cut the bellows after that point, ensuring you leave enough to mount the filter. now you will have one 45 degree bend for you intake, and you'll have the air flow from under the headlight to help. you can also (i never got this far) take a black plastic trash can and fabricate a "ram" just under and behind the driver's headlight to increase forcing air into the filter. good luck.
