Interesting story. I'm sure he climbed out at a very high rate of speed. But afterburners? Every aircraft has a Vlo(maximum landing gear operating speed). If this speed is exceeded it is likely he will cause severe damage to the gear, and might not be able to extend the gear later for landing. There are speed limits in the air too. Below 10,000 feet the speed limit is 250 knots, he would surely exceed this speed with afterburners. Most aircraft will rotate, establish a positive rate of climb with no usuable runway length left and then retract the gear. After that, climb all you want up to 250 knots(below 10,000). I'm not saying that the story isn't true. But, if it is......... he might lose his license, and quite frankly........ he's a retard.
