So today I went to a performance shop who specializes in VW & Honda aftermarket stuff & a civic turbo/manifold was sitting in their showcase. The thing was soooo tiny I couldn't stop myself from laughing. My guess is if a C900 has a Garret T3, that this is a Garret T.5??? The entire housing was smaller then my fist!!!!!
So later on that day I went to a mechanic's shop to ask him some questions about a track event in 7 days. I talked to the owner & asked if his indy/cart car is running yet? It's a 91 (I think) car that Bobby Rahal drove. Anyways, he stated it wasn't finished but he did just receive the turbo for it& asked if I wanted to see it. HELL YEA!!!!
So he pulled this monster out of the box & the impellers on the intake side were bigger then the entire turbo that the little civics get! He thought it was a Garett T72, or something. Simply HUGE!!! Much bigger diameter then the turbo used the the saab pikes peak car :o)
