I currently have an Abbott ECU but I would recommend the Nordic or the Speedparts ECU over the one I have. I especially would consider the Speedparts one mainly because of its price. The differances between the Abbott ECU and the these others is that with the Abbott ECU the base boost needs to be adjusted higher. The advantages that the other ECU have is that there is no adjustment. Meaning that the base boost is kept which is safer for the car.
The question I would ask these companies is how is the mileage going to be affected by the new ECU? This is number is probly going to stay the same or increase with the Nordic or Speedparts ECU due to the base boost. The Abbott ECU you will have a decrease mainly do to the fact that the base boost is raised higher.
The second question I would have is what will the boost pressure be raised to with the new ECU? I would only ask this because if it is only going to to raised to 17psi like an Abbotts ECU you may be better off getting a manual boost controller for alot less and achieve 15.5 psi and instead use the rest of the money on other upgrades.
The last question I would ask them is about future upgrades. If you decide to go from a step one to a step two ECU how much will they charge you? I know that Abbott does not offer any step one or step two upgrades but Nordic and Speedparts do. Some tuners like Maptun will charge you 10% of cost but who is to say how much these other companies will charge you.
This is just my two cent. I hope this helps.
