Sigh. After only 250,000+ miles on the original motor, tranny and turbo*, the Stealthbomber claims she needs to see the car doc. Some trivial complaint about lack of compression or some such thing. Absurd; the other three cylinders were just fine. So, she's in for an engine rebuild, and it seems like a good time to rebuild the tranny, upgrade the pinion, etc.

It occurs to me that you folks might have some ideas about things that SHOULD be done at the same time.

Currently she runs 24 lb injectors, modified APC, sport exhaust, open K&N. FPR is an issue; I have a 3.0 but with 24 lb injectors it seems really rich except at full boost... a RRFPR may be in the offing next spring, but is no longer on this year's horizon. A Dawes MBC is on-hand to install when I can calibrate it.

Bear in mind, there is a limit to the bankbook, and the car is designed as a road machine, not a drag strip queen. I want fat mid-range power and (if possible) a little more usefulness out of the 4500 - 6000 band... but not at the cost of mid-range response. And she's my daily driver, so reliability is not optional. With the help of many on this board, I've build a very sweet road car. Now, how can I make her better and still be able to afford her?

Thanks for all helpful suggestions or reasonably humorous replies.

CHEERS.

Modestly modified but awaiting a makeover at the spa.

*Many thanks to RedLine oil for that quarter-million miles on the original turbo, tranny and motor.
