OK ,,,it's 5C outside and 100%humidity. I did these with my Polar Vantage wrist watch. It's pretty accurate, but my fingers had a little lag, so some 4th gear runs were thrown out (too bad;)Below are the numbers that are definate. Of course one could argue that these times might be within .10-.20 either way.
it's a modified '88 9KT
BTW,,, some of these times had a little turbo lag, but I tried to get the damn thing spinning at the target start speed.
5th gear:
140-180km/h 6.3 sec
150-200km/h 8.0 sec
4th gear:
120-160km/h 4.2 sec
3rd gear:
80-130km/h 3.8sec third run (first run was 4.0, second was 3.7)
90-130km/h 3.0sec
2nd gear:
60-90km/h 1.4sec (tripped up for a fraction with wheel spin). THis was like the 'fastest finger' question on that Philbin money show...bloodly busy hands and fingers!
2nd to 3rd with a shift:
60-130km/h 5.7sec (second run was 5.8,,,I hit the fuel cut-out both times in 2nd [couldn't help it],,,and a little spin in second @80km/h)
For these runs I cranked up the front Konis to max to avoid lift. I'm also using Zrated 205/55 R15 (my 'winter rain' tires) instead of the 215/45 R17s.
I'm also running 20degrees advance and .40 (or so) on the MSD BTM. Most of these runs peaked and held at 24psi, then faded to 21psi in all gears. Yes 24psi in second (with on cue wheel spin from 75-85 km/h)!
also I wonder where everybody went here,,,I only saw 1 car on my test strip in the boon docks in 1.5 hours;-)
