In any car with LH Jetronic (900, 9000, whatever) the LH controls only the mixture and not the spark. The ignition is handled by an outside control unit - on a a 16v S car that's the EZK box (also by Bosch). As such, the knock sensor has zero input into the LH unit, only the EZK one. I think, but am not sure, that the rev limit in all c900s is controlled by the Jetronic unit - it cuts power to the fuel pump or the injectors, depending on the year of the car. It's possible that an EZK unit may cycle spark, but I don't think that's the case. I'll check out my 900S later today - I've never really paid attention.

As for output, the stock system is probably good to mid-200hp. I think beyond that it simply isn't flexible enough to be useful. It's major limitation is fuel delivery - it doesn't do well when you start messing with injectors and such. I am not honestly sure how you would compensate for NOS in a Saab, since the air metering is done at the air intake and not the manifold - introducing anything after the AMM is going to be undetectable to the ECU. You may have to look at additional injectors or something along those lines to make use of NOS.

Talk to someone who knows about it, though. Saabs use very standard injection that, ultimately, is not much differt from any other Jetronic system (including CIS) which has been fitted to millions upon millions of cars. It's just a closed-loop hotwire-type system...
