I think it was an old thread on this board, but it was one where someone flow tested a 9k intercooler (along with several other makes) and came to the conclusion that it was somewhat restrictive, and indeed was one of the worst two out of I think 6 or 7 intercoolers tested.

It's not from personal experience of course, but it seems there are a lot of other intercoolers one can use rather than the 9k one. I noticed a thread recently on this board again that said a new standard Viggen intercooler in the U.S was something like $150?

I think I'll go for something from Forge (U.K motorsports firm) as they can apparantly make custom intercooolers not too extortionate prices.
